There has been a battle on Steampowered for quite some time now about the possible upcoming achievements to Counter-Strike: Source. Others think it’s a good idea, others think that it’s bad. Real bad. Me? I’m all for the achievements. I mean, they’re not going to ruin the game. People might just start running around with different weapons. How has the gameplay of Day of Defeat: Source changed since the introducion of achievements? I see very little change, if any at all. People may be using different weapons to get the weapon achievements, but that’s pretty much it.
Now, nothing has been set to stone yet, and the anti-achievement people are wishing that CS:S achievements are just a pointless rumour. This might be the case, but anyway, I’ve come up with my list of achievements I’d like to see in Counter-Strike: Source if they came to be. Enjoy the ride, folks!
GENERAL ( 17 / 43 )
1. Blinding Death
- Kill an enemy with a Flashbang.
2. Flash, Bang and Clear!
- Kill 50 enemies that are under the effect of a Flashbang.
3. No Smoking!
- Kill 10 enemies through smoke.
4. Last Second Change
- As a lone terrorist, plant the bomb with less than 5 seconds remaining and win the round.
5. Slip-up Mission
- As a lone counter-terrorist, rescue the last hostage with less than 5 seconds remaining to win the round.
6. Sharpshooter
- Kill 50 mid-air enemies with a Sniper Rifle.
7. Walls of Glass
- Kill 25 enemies through a wall or an object.
8. Little Big Atom Bomb
- Kill 4 enemies with the same HE Grenade.
9. Pure Pwnage
- Kill 5 enemies in one round, and don’t die during it.
10. Braindead
- Get 3 consecutive headshots without dying.
11. Bucketload of TNT
- Plant 250 bombs.
12. Field Engineer
- Defuse 250 bombs.
13. Super Hero
- Save 500 hostages.
14. The Plan of Mass Destruction
- Win 1000 rounds as a terrorist.
15. War on Terrorism
- Win 1000 rounds as a counter-terrorist.
16. Man of Steel
- Kill 5000 enemies.
17. A True Veteran
- Complete all the achievements.

A bit bland, maybe. I suck at giving names to stuff, but yeah, that’s basically what I’d like to see.
